Introduction

The App-V 5 client is at the core of any App-V deployment, regardless of the method of deploying the applications onto the clients, whether via the publishing server, electronic software distribution, or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). In addition, the App-V client has a number of prerequisites that need to be in place prior to installation.

During the course of this chapter, we will be carrying out the steps on the DC, FS1, FS2, and SCCM servers and on our Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 client PCs (which will be used for testing purposes).
