Abstract

Survival and development are two major issues of human existence，and the same is true of women’s existence. Based on the 2nd survey on the status of Chinese women（data of Fujian province），and take Minyue culture and China/Fujian development history as the background，this book described the overall situation on the status of Fujian women in 1990-2000 after the reform and opening up. This women’s/gender studies cover the following ten dimensions：（1）social development stage，（2）gender，（3）cultural type，（4）historical tradition，（5）ideology，（6）state/region，（7）nationality/ethnicity，（8）class/stratum，（9）age/generation，（10）marriage & family，mainly study on the status of Fujian women from the perspective of social development stage，gender，urban and rural areas，mainly from the perspective of social development，gender，urban and rural areas. The status of women mainly involved the status of economic，political and social participation，education，marital and family，health，life style，legal and gender concepts，and a deeper analysis of the stratification is carried out，in order to draw out the major changes in the status of women in Fujian after the reform and opening up，highlight the characteristics of women’s survival and development，and grasp the rules of women’s development and gender equality in Fujian.
