Sign in with a non-root user account

The previous user was created with programmatic access only. You can edit the user or create another one to allow access to the Management Console by performing the following steps:

  1. On the Add user screen, you need to check the AWS Management Console access option:
  1. You can keep the Autogenerated password and Require password reset options checked. After selecting a group and confirming, you will receive a password and a link to access the AWS account with this non-root user:
  1. The access link has the format as https://your_aws_account_id.signin.aws.amazon.com/console. You just need to follow the link and type your new credentials.
  2. If you don't want to disclose the AWS Account ID or if you prefer to use a friendly name, like your company name, you can create an account alias. On the IAM Console Management, select Dashboard and click on Customize:
  1. Now, the user can sign in using a link that follows this format: https://your_alias.signin.aws.amazon.com/console
